This New Year’s, we left behind the frosty Northern Kentucky winter and gifted Pap and Mam a trip to Florida—a special getaway for the family members who could make it. It was more than just a vacation; it was a chance to connect, laugh, and celebrate together. And though not everyone was able to join us this time, we know that one day, we’ll all be together for a trip like this, making it even more precious.

🏊‍♀️ Polar Plunging… with a Florida Twist!

One of the trip’s most memorable moments was our polar plunge into the ocean. Florida may not be known for icy waters, but trust us—the ocean was shockingly cold! The initial chill gave way to shrieks and laughter as we all dared each other to dive deeper. Pap and Mam cheered us on from the shore, their smiles showing how much they loved seeing us all together, making memories.

🌊 Poolside Fun

The heated pool and hot tub became our daily retreat, the perfect balance of relaxation and fun. From kids splashing around to quiet conversations in the warm water, the poolside vibes were unmatched. It was a place to unwind, recharge, and just enjoy being together.

🃏 Game Nights: Mafia Madness

When the sun went down, game time began! Mafia quickly became the family favorite, with everyone getting hilariously into character. The accusations flew, the bluffs were bold, and the laughter was endless. It’s safe to say we’ll be talking about our wild Mafia nights for years to come!

🌴 Ziplining Over the Harbor

Adventure was in the air—literally—when we went ziplining over the harbor. Watching Pap fearlessly soar through the sky was inspiring, and his excitement at the end of the line was contagious! Some of us took things up a notch with free-falls from the top and rock-climbing races. The thrill, the views, and the shared experience made it an unforgettable part of the trip.

Afternoons were spent biking through scenic trails and enjoying the Florida sunshine. These quiet moments of exploration gave us time to appreciate the beauty of our surroundings and the gift of family time.

Mealtimes were a team effort, whether we were eating by the pool, around the table, or trying local spots (note to self: Margaritaville isn’t worth it for the food 🙃). Pap and Mam loved watching everyone come together, pitching in to cook, serve, and clean up. These moments of teamwork and laughter were the heart of our trip.
