Fall in Northern Kentucky just hits different. 🍁 The second Labor Day is over, I’ve got my mums on the porch, a pumpkin spice iced coffee in hand, and I am FULLY ready to festival-hop my way through September and October. If you’re new to the area (hi, welcome, I love you already) or you’ve been here forever and just need the cheat sheet — I got you. Here’s everything worth putting on your calendar this fall in NKY.

🍺 Newport Oktoberfest

When: September 11–13, 2026 Where: Newport Festival Park at the Levee

This is THE one. Three days of Bavarian food, live music, a full carnival, and the Cincinnati skyline as your backdrop. It’s free to get in, it’s family-friendly during the day and turns into more of a “grown folks night out” as the sun goes down. Bring cash for the vendors, wear shoes you don’t mind standing in for a while, and if you’ve got littles, the kids’ play wristbands are $10 and worth it.

Bestie tip: Park in Newport/Bellevue and walk in — parking right at the levee fills up FAST.

🍻 Hofbrauhaus Newport Oktoberfest

When: Weekends, September 11–27, 2026 Where: 200 3rd St, Newport, KY

If the big festival wasn’t enough (it’s never enough), Hofbrauhaus stretches the celebration out over three weekends with the Original Oktoberfest Bier, traditional German food, and live music. Great option if you want the Oktoberfest vibe without the crowd of the main event.

🎉 St. Timothy Oktoberfest

When: September 18–20, 2026 Where: St. Timothy Catholic Church, Union, KY (Boone County)

A full weekend of live music, beer, and family fun out in Boone County — a little more low-key and neighborhood-y than the Newport crowds. If you’re on the Boone County side of NKY, this one’s for you.

🎃 Pumpkin Patches Around NKY

Look, I’m not going to pretend every farm has locked in their 2026 hours yet (they never do this early, bless them), but here are the go-to spots our NKY families hit every single year:

• McGlasson Farms — Hebron, KY (Boone County)
• Kinman Farms — Boone County
• Boone’s Country Pumpkin
• The Pumpkin Patch — Kenton County

Give each one a call or check their socials before you load up the kids — opening dates and weekend hours shift year to year, and nothing ruins a Saturday like showing up to a closed gate. 😅

🍂 Covington Oktoberfest (Goebel Park / Mainstrasse Village)

This one’s a Covington tradition hosted by Braxton Brewing at Goebel Park, and it usually lands in mid-September. I couldn’t lock in the exact 2026 dates in time for this post, so check Braxton Brewing’s site or the City of Covington’s events page before you plan around it — but if past years are any indication, put a placeholder on your calendar for mid-September.

Missed it in August?

Shoutout to the First of Fall Festival at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Burlington — it already happened this year (Aug 28–30), but it’s a free, open-air fall market with vendors, food trucks, and dog-friendly grounds. Mark your calendar for next year, because it’s a good one. 🐾
